William A. “Bill” Barker
February 26, 1924 - July 14, 2018
William A. Barker, 94, of Syracuse passed away on Saturday. Bill retired from Rockwell International, where he worked as an engineer for many years. He was a decorated Army Veteran of World War II, serving as gunner on a B-24 bomber for thirty sorties over occupied Europe. His beloved wife, Frances V. had predeceased him in 2016. Survivors include his sister, Bernice Eppler of Kansas; his nieces and nephews and longtime friend and caregiver, Rob Slocombe. Calling hours will be Friday, July 20th, from 9 to 10 am at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am in Blessed Sacrament Church. Entombment with Military Honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
