Obituary for Edward G. DeGray

Edward G. DeGray
July 17, 1939 - July 31, 2018
Edward G. DeGray, 79, of Cicero passed away on Tuesday. Ed was raised on Syracuse’s northside and was the son of the late Edward and Delphine DeGray. He retired following 42 years of service with Crouse Hinds. Ed was the former fire chief of the South Bay Fire Department, where he was a member for the past 55 years. He was a long-time communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. For many years he enjoyed model railroading, but his greatest joy came from traveling and time spent with family, especially his beloved wife and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, David. Survivors include his wife, of 55 years, Patricia; his children, Joseph (Robin) DeGray, Christine DeGray and Anne Marie (Shawn) Kehoe; his seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday, August 3rd, from 4 to 7 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9 am in Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Clay.
