Obituary for Rev. Terrance E. "Terry" Millbyer

Rev. Terrance E. Millbyer
November 15, 2018
Rev. Terrance E. Millbyer, 75, of Syracuse battled illness, disability, and adversity in his last years, succumbing Thursday. Through his struggles, he found meaning and purpose in bringing hope to others. Reverend Millbyer was a man of God who served Him by serving others with his time and resources. He gave shelter to the homeless, food to the hungry, love to the hurting, and believed in those who didn't believe in themselves.
“Rev. Terry” previously served as pastor of the Savannah, Phoenix, North Rose, Gethsemane and Cornerstone United Methodist Churches and since his retirement continued to serve Cornerstone UMC. He presided over countless funerals and weddings for those who were without a pastor, and found great fulfillment in doing so. His interests included movies, especially the Ten Commandments, ceramics, painting and baking, and would graciously share his decorated cookies cakes with others. Survivors include his wife, of 50 years, Emily; his children, Mark Buchanan and Christine (Terry) Douglas; grandsons, Owen and Cole; his sister, Mary (Tony) DiMura and their daughters, Sara and Megan; his mother-in-law, Sue Buchanan and sister-in-law, Susan Buchanan. His parents, Dorothy (Bundy) and Kenneth had predeceased him.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Nov. 20th, from 2 to 5 pm at Cornerstone UMC, 3435 Cold Springs Rd., Baldwinsville, NY, concluding with funeral services at 5 pm and a reception will follow the services. Graveside services will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery on Wednesday at 1 pm. Online condolences at CarterFuneralHome.com.
