Joy A. Wittwer, 87, of Syracuse passed away on Wednesday. She was born in Auburn, New York to George and Veronica Wittwer, resided most of life in Syracuse. Joy had attended LeMoyne College. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist/Holy Trinity Church. Joy had worked at Auburn Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital and retired after 25 years as a Medical Technician from Crouse Hospital. She was an avid Yankees and SU Basketball fan. Survivors include a daughter, Michel A. Wittwer of Syracuse; three sons, Michael A. Wittwer, Mark G. (Laurel) Wittwer and Stephan M. (Yvonne Zacharek) Emerson; a grandson, Jason G. Wittwer and her great-grandchildren, Jaya Lynn Wittwer, Alexander and Sebastian Bishop. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a,m. in St. John the Baptist/Holy Trinity Church. Contributions may be made in Joy’s honor to the Crouse Foundation.
