Donald R. Casler, 96, of East Syracuse passed away on Friday. Don worked as a tool and die maker, retiring from Phillips. He also was proprietor of Potter Boat Company for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed boating, fishing, golf, and was part of the ski patrol at Labrador. During World War II he served with the US Army and later with the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was predeceased by his second wife, Grace and by his grandson, Justin. Survivors include his children, Margyle Dewitz, Carol Sandford, Paul (Nancy) Casler, Richard (Linda) Casler and Bruce Casler and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 16th, from 5 to 7 pm at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. Services with Military Honors will follow at 7 pm.
